|
South Funen is a cornucopia of excursion possibilities that can be combined depending on time and inclination. We would love to come up with suggestions for tours for big or small parties and are at your service with planning and organising the excursions, if so desired.
We recommend you consider using our excellent guides, you might want to find out more about our guide service here.
As mentioned, the possibilities are legion, but as a starter here follow some typical tour headings. Contact Sydfyns Turistbureau and get concrete ideas or offers incl. detailed info and prices etc.:
Historical tour of Svendborg town
The guide welcomes the party at the previous town poorhouse, Viebæltegård, today Svendborg & Omegns Museum. Walk through Svendborg’s old streets and lanes, past a medieval church and down to the harbour with its past heritage as one of the most important seafaring towns.
Sail with M/S Helge to Valdemars Slot
The guide meets the party in Svendborg’s harbour at Helge’s berth, board it and sail through beautiful Svendborgsund, past Christiansminde, Thurø and via Troense to Valdemars Slot from 1639 with a conducted tour of the Museum of Manors and lunch in restaurant ”Slotskælderen” beneath the castle church.
Gudme – manor houses – Lundeborg
We drive down the minor roads in South Funen with the typical quickset hedges to Gudme and the Gudme King’s Hall, then on to Broholm Gods estate with a conducted tour of the main building and NFB Sehested’s prehistoric collection. On past the manor houses of Mullerup, Hesselagergård, Tieseholt estate, Ejstrupgård and Klingstrup to our lunch at Hesselager Hotel or restaurant Majorgaarden. We wind up the tour with a visit to the idyllic fishing hamlet Lundeborg.
Egeskov Slot and Vester Skerninge
The tour starts with a conducted tour of Egeskov Slot, Europe’s best preserved island fort from 1554. After the visit to the castle we drive through hilly terrain at Egebjerg and Stenstrup where an important brickworks lay. The tour ends cosily with lunch in Vester Skerninge Kro, an inn from 1772
