The Southern Funen archipelago is the maritime centre of Denmark. The Maritime Centre organizes cruises on board a more than 100 years old, well-kept schooner.

The Southern Funen archipelago is the maritime centre of Denmark. since olden times the sea has been alive and bustling, be it with smacks, packet boats or schoonders takingman and beast, goods, mail and cattle to and from the islands and beyond, into the world. Today this is all history but the archipelago is still the scene of many activities.
The Maritime Centre organizes cruises out of Faaborg and Svendborg on board the Meta, a more than 100 years old, well-kept schooner and out of Langeland and Ærø on board the Mjølner, a packet boat. From all departure points cruises visit a near-by islands.

The Warehouse shop
In The Warehouse shop at Maritimt Center you can buy arts and crafts, posters and cards made buy local artists. You can also find a variety of dry stores specialties such as marmalade, oils, local bottled beers, honey and the well known Skarø ice cream made from birch bark juice and organic fruits, cream and other exotic flavors.
The shop is open this year from the 5th. of May until mid October between 10:00 to 14:30.
If you visit on a first Saturday of one of the summer months you can pick up a good bargain at Farmers Market which is held just in front of the old warehouse and shop.
