A little bridge connects Thurø with Funen. On the north side is Thurø church built by Ellen Marsvin in 1639. In the beautiful terraced churchyard lie, among others, the writers, Karin Michaelis and Tom Kristensen .
The island’s eastern and southern parts are sheer scenic beauty with good beaches, woodland and the listed area by Thurø bar.

The beach at Smørmose is one big playground. This is where you also find Thurø Minigolf with 20 handcrafted, artistically designed concrete courses.
