The South of Funen, Svendborg and the Archipelago have always been popular holidays destinations, renowned for their scenery and maritime charm.

No doubt, the colourful accounts of Svendborgs very special café, pub, and restaurant atmosphere have had a positive effect as well. It is all still there for everyone who appreciates beauty, quality and interresting surprises. The range of experiences is constantly increasing.
Whereas the holidaymakers of the oast, appart from walking, had few choices of beeing transported by road or sea, today¨s visitors can get much "closer" in all senses of the world.
The sea and the archipelago can be explored in numerous ways - on board the M/S Helge, in a sea kayak, a sailing yacht or a classic smack dinghy, swimming like seaside tourists have always done from one of the many fine beaches, or from the deck of one of the small ferries to the islands.
The best outing into the countryside is a bike trip. Motoring is fine, but the narrow and only moderately trafficked country lanes meandering through South Funen lend themselves ideally to bike trips.
